About The Event

Join us for the beginning of our 10-Year Celebration at the start of our 46.1 miles of Wild  and Scenic Designation on the Lowell/Westfield Town line. The morning ~7 miles of paddling provide a scenic paddle section that will involve one area of Class II whitewater, in a beautiful rocky gorge, and may have some shallow sections depending on water levels. This section welcomes paddlers of all ability levels (rapids section can be walked around if needed). Once we reach our lunch spot (Lane Rd in Westfield), we will be taking a break for lunch provided by UMATR. We will then continue downstream in the afternoon paddling ~4 miles. This section is very beginner friendly, and offers great views of some natural floodplains, some tree restoration sites, and a spectacular unique island only accessible by boat. For more information on this specific paddle section, please reach out to our Field Coordinator, Sarah, at sarah@vtwsr.org.

**UMATR The Wild and Scenic 10-Year Celebration Day Paddles schedule is subject to change, due to weather or river conditions. Participants will be contacted prior to each paddle for an update on what to expect along the paddle, what water levels are like, and weather conditions. You can contact our Field Coordinator, Sarah, at sarah@vtwsr.org for more detailed information as needed.**
